Our Services
We provide lactation care through the lens of an occupational therapist, helping you integrate lactation and infant feeding into the fabric of your family's life.
What can you expect?
Rose is both a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant . . .
Your initial lactation visit includes a comprehensive feeding assessment of both parent and baby, integrating Rose’s expertise in occupational therapy and lactation to address positioning, latch, milk production and intake, and the feeding relationship as whole. A screening of the baby’s overall functioning including physical development, oral skills, and state regulation is always included and informs the feeding plan and individualized recommendations. For most families, lactation visits which include education, guidance, and continued support, are often all that’s needed to help meet feeding goals.
When a baby has more complex needs – such as oral motor challenges, strong refusals or aversions, body tension, or developmental differences – occupational therapy intervention may be beneficial. At that time, and when agreed upon by the family, Rose can offer and provide OT services directly to Baby to support feeding and development.
